柳璇是一名應用劇場工作者、教學藝術家、創作引導與工作坊講師。
在台灣及紐約兩地以應用劇場（紀錄、引錄、故事劇場及口述歷史）為脊椎，跨領域創作發想為肌肉，於紐約公私立學校、曼哈頓表演藝術高中、紐約市立圖書館、紐約各區日照樂齡中心、美國腫瘤護理學會、紐約市文化發展機構、非營利組織帶領藝術工作坊及駐館計畫。探討語言文化、身分認同、社會行動、身心健康等多項以人為本之議題。
現為 生活之間共創聚樂部 創辦人，持續發想以生活為創作主題的工作坊讓大眾參加。
美國紐約大學教育戲劇研究所畢。
Rita Liu, 柳璇 (spelled Liu Hsuan and pronounced Lee-o Shu-en) is a Taiwanese Performing Artist, Theater Deviser, Creative Facilitator.
Rita loves to work with people to discover their stories, and continue finding warmth, playfulness and creativity in the everyday life.
Her work often interweaves movement, language, identity with the roots in applied theater practices. Rita believes the power of storytelling and that “art should be accessible for everyone”.
As a teaching artist, Rita has collaborated with Pink Fang (former Ping Chong and Company), Community-Word Project, Waterwell Drama Program, Apex for Youth, and more.
Rita holds a Master's degree in Educational Theater at NYU.
